Miss Olivia Bland!

Seeking sanctuary from the colossal amount of what can only be described as working-class people in the town, we paid an exorbitant sum to spend an hour in the Sea-Life centre, where Olivia came face to face with sharks, sea-horses and other creatures of the deep. Fish is one of the latest additions to her growing vocabulary along with Park (of the swings, rather than the Ji-sung variety), cat, and, after much tragic prompting from one of her parents, Waynerooney (she says it all as one word)!
However, try as we might, the one word that we simply can't coax from her mouth is Olivia. We're pretty sure that Olivia knows she is Olivia, as she responds positively - well, usually - whenever she hears her name, but her mouth stubbornly refuses to form the sounds. If I was a linguist I might be able to explain this in terms of phonetics. If I was a Psychologist I might be able to explain it in terms of a childs limited awareness of self. Alas, I am neither, am therefore unable to explain it, but it won't stop us spending ours of each day saying 'What's your name?' until she finally breaks and says the magic word. Or decides that she's called Waynerooney.
