Weaning update Part 27: The latest development in the eating regime involves us trying to encourage independence by yielding control of the spoon to Olivia; naturally this inevitably ends in all shades of disaster. While convention dictates that one should grab the handle and place the food holding hollow bit of the spoon in the mouth, Olivia prefers to spit in the face of convention - as well as in the face of whoever is unlucky enough to be on feeding duty - and grab the food and stick the handle in her mouth.

This allows her to cover her hands in food that she is then free to smear over herself and everything in close proximity to her. Recent food related disasters have included a breakfast time that concluded with Olivia sporting a Weetabix face pack - suprisingly effective for the pores as it turns out - and an episode with a scrambled egg that couldn't have been any messier if it was Howard Simms eating it.
