And she's off!
Yes, at approximately 6:20 this evening, Olivia catapaulted herself forward and crawled for the first time. And what inspired this lurch into the exciting world of forward momentum? That would be the Sky remote that we craftily used as bait to lure her forwards. Showing the instincts inherited from her media studies teaching parents (though in truth Cath hung up the remote control a few years ago, and I will be doing likewise a mere five days from now), Olivia lunged for the remote and within seconds had put the Simpsons on. An impressive feat I'm sure you must agree.
The picture above is not from the moment itself, but from earlier today when she bobbed up and down on her knees looking for all the world like she was about to scoot off, but clearly lacked the motivating force of a remote control to compel her to do so.
And so begins months of chasing her around, whipping her away from imminent danger - and I don't mean turning on the Fox News channel or something equally hazardous to her health -and reminding ourselves that we really must get around to covering those plug sockets. Which reminds me, I've got some plug sockets to go and cover up...
