That said, she did struggle at the end of the meal when it came to using the universal scribbling on air gesture to show that we wanted the bill.

The reason that Olivia is togged up so spiffily in this shot is for her maiden visit to Pizza Express. According to some supplement from Mother and Baby magazine or somesuch, the entire Pizza Express chain is deemed child-friendly. Clearly the memo about this never reached the Bolton branch, who were child-indifferent at best. 'Can you warm some food for us?' we asked, by phone in advance of the visit. 'I'll ask someone, but there won't be anyone here to ask until after 6:00 pm,' came the less than enthusiastic response.

Still the pizza's were up to their ususal standard, and the Peronni's that Olivia ordered were absolute perfection.
