According to an article I read in the paper this week, blogging is once again on the wane and is now officially the least cool thing you can do on the internet. As someone who always fears the paradoxically chilly wind of uncoolness, I'm left in the horns of a dilemma. Do we renounce blogging before it's terminal unhipness infects the rest of my existence and I suddenly find myself listening to Barry Manilow, or worse, Coldplay, or even worse, the Courteeners? Or do we stick to our guns and wait (and continue to do so), in the way that I did with chinos, tank-tops and cardigans, for fashion to swing back into line with us?
Naturally, we walk the latter path. So, it being half-term, we're back in business. And this time, we're coming at you courtesy of a new lap-top for our first ever totally wireless post. (Technically not true, I'm plugged into the mains). The picture above is a historical moment in Olivia's life; her introduction to public transport. Hitherto we've kept the existence of the unwashed massess a secret from her, keeping her safely away from places like Morrison's where she's likely to meet working-class people.
Last weekend, we slightly relaxed this stance and took the train. Her innate fussiness and resistance to any new experience had us fearing the worst, but she took it in her stride and seemed to actually enjoy the experience. Sticking her on bus, where she is likely to meet yer actual working-class types is still some time off though.
