Longstanding readers may have noticed that one announcement regarding Olivia's development has been glaringly absent from the blog; the vexed subject of teeth. Even though for months, every complaint has been attributed to teething, none of the little blighters have actually made an appearance in her mouth. For a while we convinced ourselves that Olivia would never actually get any teeth, that she would go through life known to one and all as 'Gummy Bland'. We consoled ourselves with the knowledge that advances in dental engineering mean she could have been fitted with a perfectly convincing set of fake gnashers, and that most people would never know that she keeps her teeth in a jar at night.

Such fears have now evaporated as a jagged white tooth has speared its way through her gums. At present it has the entire inside of her mouth to itself, but we're hopeful that its loneliness will be alleviated soon as its joined by its colleagues. Farewell Gummy Bland.
